Charming Kitchen Gets a Facelift: Before

October brings the change of seasons to New England and here at KBDC it also brings new projects! We are excited to be starting another new kitchen remodel that we plan on following through our blog, just like our Classic Master Bathroom Remodel that we have been walking you through. Take a look at the slideshow below to see what we’re working with.

This kitchen isn’t in bad shape, but the homeowners want to see a transformation from average to extraordinary. We don’t blame them since this kitchen already has so much potential! With exposed brick, hardwood floors, and natural light flooding the room, the existing features are what make this kitchen unique.

The old, white cabinets and granite counter tops will be removed along with the existing appliances. The wall where the refrigerator is currently located will be extended to create a larger L-shaped kitchen. There will be a center island facing the refrigerator that is equipped with a microwave and warming drawers and space to seat three people. The stove will be relocated, and there will be a beautiful subway tile back splash that extends up the wall above the kitchen sink window. One final touch is a built-in bench located along the wall of windows that will seat several people comfortably at the kitchen table. The exposed brick and hardwood floors will remain intact, ensuring that this quaint kitchen doesn’t lose its charm during the renovation process. This kitchen will be the perfect blend of luxury and charm and old meets new.
