A Message from Hartford Habitat for Humanity Women Build Chair, Susan Lane
On a wintry February evening, with sleet and freezing rain falling, it’s hard to imagine that May is right around the corner. May brings with it spring, Mother’s Day and Women Build, and that’s just what was being discussed by Susan Lane, Manager of Community Outreach for Hoffman Autogroup, and this year’s Chairwoman of the Women Build program through the Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity. KBDC was proud to have hosted HHH at our showroom in West Hartford for an information night and venue for team leaders to meet and mingle. After coming down from the high of so much energy, Susan took a moment to share some thoughts on Facebook about the event, the women involved and how important the work of Women Build is, not only for the individual homeowners, many of whom are female heads of household, but also the many women who participate on each build. The camaraderie that develops is truly inspirational as women pound nails, hang sheetrock and form friendships all while helping to make a home for someone in their community. Take a moment to watch Susan’s video, then visit the Hartford Habitat website to learn how you can become involved, or call Rose at 860.541.2208, ext. 2205.
